Situated in the foothills of the famous El Torcal Natural Park of Southern Spain you will find a very special place. Cortijo Alcornocal is a luxury home specialising in stress-free vacations. Nestling in 6 acres of olive and cork oak groves you will also find orange, lemon and pomegranate trees as well as numerous wild flowers, herbs and shrubs.
Cortijo Alcornocal is a two hundred year old farmhouse with panoramic views which has been lovingly restored to a high standard by the owners Tom & Debbie McGrath, who offer you the warmest of welcomes. The Cortijo is ideal for people looking for a stress-free haven to get away from it all. The views will take your breath away!
We are only 40 minutes drive from Málaga airport and 20 minutes from the Historical Town of Antequera which dates back to Moorish times. The Cortijo is situated just a short distance from the village of Villanueva de la Concepción with it's many Tapa's bars and restaurants, including "XÉBAR" which is owned and run by Tom and Debbie themselves. Debbie is a first class chef and produces wonderful international cuisine. As an added incentive, guests of the "Cortijo Alcornocal" are entitled to a 10% discount on all meals and refreshments. We are more than happy for you to sample the Spanish delights and for us to taxi you there and back. Relax, unwind and enjoy the peace and tranquillity with picturesque views of the Andalucian countryside.
Being on a hillside the terrain is quite steep so therefore is probably unsuitable for small children. Cortijo Alcornocal is NOT suited to those in search of bright lights (the stars are the only ones you will see) but any one wanting to chill out will be rewarded handsomely.
All three of our guest rooms are en-suite with ceiling fans and central heating. We have a lovely comfortable guest lounge with CD-Player, Radio, Satellite T.V. and a Wood burning fire, for those chilly winter nights. We have a large separate dining room, or you can dine alfresco on the large terrace. Two magnificent sun terraces lead you to the swimming pool; which measures 10 metres by 4 metres. The Cortijo is south facing and receives the sun all day. The whole area is a natural haven for bird watchers, painters, cyclists, walkers and anyone who wishes to relax, be spoilt and experience the "Real Spain".
